Another week has passed, so we thought it would be good to give you and update of What's Happening.
As you've probably read, the Shelter In Place order has been extended until the end of April.
The Georgia order allows for shoppes like us to offer curbside pickup in addition to delivery. We delayed re-opening that service until we were sure we could do it as safely as possible. We tested those procedures late last week with a few orders, and are happy with the results.
With that in mind, we're adjusting our options, starting today.
- We will continue to offer the same $5.00 local delivery to the entirety of Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall and Jackson Counties. If you're in a situation where you need that service, we're happy to provide it to you. However, we are reducing the days for delivery to Monday – Friday.
- Contactless Curbside is now available Monday – Saturday, from 11:30am – 5:30 pm.
Both services require payment in advance, either through our webstore, or by calling the shoppe to arrange payment.
The curbside pickup is pretty straight forward, but it does require guests to follow protocols. You'll be asked to pull up along the outside curb (closest to the Autozone) with your driver door facing the shoppe entrance. Your windows should remain up until we give you the thumbs up.
We'll don fresh gloves, and bring out a small stool to act as a table and place it next to your driver's door. We'll then place your product on top and step back about 6-10 feet.
At that point, you can roll down the window and collect your items. The staff is happy to chat with you from a distance, and then you'll be on your way.
We'll retreive our make-shift table, sanitize it, toss out the used gloves, and get back to work.
Beyond the curbside delivery, we're also continuing to work on our online presence, including social medial, our discord server, and our webstore. We've also begun retooling the interior of the shoppe as well.
We anticipate that Social Distancing will continue beyond April, and perhaps throughout the year. To that end, we're adjusting our store layout a bit to create wider aisles and space between tables. That has involved decommissioning a few of our small black tables, which has reduced our overall seating capacity.
Our staff continues to work from home, with the exception of John, Priya, and me (Dave), who staff the shoppe as needed.
