It's the last week of November.  Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Christmas is just around the corner.  Wait, sorry, it's actually down the hall, third door on the right. . .
We have an array of new products coming in this week.  The highly anticipated When I Dream game releases this week, along with the newest Role Playing Game from Fantasy Flight – Genesys.  You can head over to YouTube to check out a neat little trailer for When I Dream, that introduces you to the basics of the game.
Genesys is a setting-neutral ruleset that leverages the dice pool mechanics made popular in their Star Wars RPG series.   “Blast hordes of reanimated skeletons with holy fire, explore new worlds in a steam-powered zeppelin, match wits with alien warlords, or invent your own entirely unique world. Unlimited adventure awaits you in a new roleplaying system limited only by your imagination!”  The first wave of product for Genesys includes the core rulebook as well as the much-needed dice pack.
We'll also have new expansions for TIME Stories and Legend of the Five Rings,  along with the new game Smile, from Z-Man.
Are amazing video games reimagined as boardgames more your thing?  If so, you'll be excited to hear that Fallout is hitting our shelves this week as well!
Fallout is a post-nuclear adventure board game for one to four players. Based on the hit video game series by Bethesda Softworks, each scenario is inspired by a familiar story from the franchise. Survivors begin the game on the edge of an unexplored landscape, uncertain of what awaits them in this unfamiliar world. With just one objective to guide them from the very beginning, each player must explore the hidden map, fight ferocious enemies, and build the skills of their survivor as they attempt to complete challenging quests and balance feuding factions within the game.
But wait, there might be more. . .
Early releases are always a little challenging to write about because if there's a hiccup along the way, we can be without product and sad-faced.  That being said, this week is the scheduled early-release for the latest title from Ignacy Trzewiczek and Portal Games – Alien Artifacts.  We had the pleasure of playing this a few months back when Ignacy visited our shoppe, and we're really excited about this release.  As soon as it hits our shelves, we'll have a demo available, so be sure to watch our Facebook page for updates.
As for our events, our page on Facebook as all the details on the dates and times for things like Pokémon and Destiny. This week is also our week to host the Gwinnett Boardgame Society.  They'll be joining us Thursday night, so that's a great time to come out and meet some new folks and play some new games (or old favorites).
We're adding a little something extra to Friday Night Magic in December, and it starts this week.  We've pulled together all of our older promo cards – from previous FNMs, Game Days, and other Magic events, and we've used them to compile randomized prize packs.  Each pack contains 5 cards and includes everything from full or alternate art shiny lands to hot FNM promos.  There's even a Fatal Push somewhere in the mix!
We'll be awarding these packs a little weirdly because we can.  Each week we'll give away four prize packs.  The first two packs will be given to the top two players of FNM Standard respectively.  The third and fourth packs will be given to who we're calling the “Tops of the bottom.”  They're the players that land as the top two players of the bottom half of the standings after round three.  For example, if we have 20 players in the event, 10th place is the start of the “bottom half” of the event, so the packs will go to the players in 10th and 11th place.
These packs, of course, are in addition to our standard prize support and promos for the event, so it's just a little something extra to mix things up a bit.
Also, keep in mind that our Toys For Tots campaign is still going on.  Donate a toy or game to our Toys For Tots bin, and you'll receive our Community Hero discount (10% off most items) on your purchase during that visit.  It's a great way to earn a little discount while helping a child have a better Christmas this year.

Whether you're coming in to check out the newest titles, enjoy our events, or just to drop off a donation for a less-fortunate child, we appreciate you spending time with us, and we hope to see you at the shoppe soon!  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!
