International Tabletop Day 2015 has come and gone. We had a great turn out, with a lot of folks spending the day with us. Joshua, from ArmchairGeeks, brought in a crew to play Twilight Imperium, The Gwinnett Boardgame Society was well represented, and many of our favorite Meeps were in attendance. We also met some new friends, including folks from Happy Hour Board Games, and the Johns Creek Boardgaming Group, as well many local gamers who were discovering our store for the first time.
Thank you, so much, to everyone who came out. We really appreciate you taking the time to spend the day with us. We had a fantastic time, and we hope you did too. We had a blast running the Giant King of Tokyo games (Thank you, GTS Distribution, for providing the game), really enjoyed teaching so many folks new-to-them games like Armada and Warmachine, and we appreciate everyone singing “Happy Birthday” to our wonderful Staffers.
Now that Tabletop Day is behind us, it's time to start looking for ways to continue to improve the store for our gamers. We'll be taking the next few days to focus our calendar a bit more. Labeling Saturday as “Dice Master” day certainly got the conversation started, but we need to block out a tighter set of hours to make the games actually happen.
We'll also be redoubling our efforts to flesh out the terrain options in the store – whether it's organizing the bins so it's easier to find the terrain your looking for, or building out new pieces for games like Infinity, we hope to make strong process over the next few weeks.
We're also working on getting demo armies setup for more miniature game systems. Our chief modeler and painter, Riley, is working on Wrath of Kings at the moment, and then he'll move on to Infinity and Dropzone Commander. These models, much like our Dark Vengeance models from 40K, will be available for in-store use.
In May, we'll be able to launch our first official Friday Night Magic, and we're just about ready to start running some Force of Will tournaments. Our Pokémon League paperwork is in progress as well, so we should be in good shape to run all kinds of card games shortly.
