As you know, we've been open since Monday, working out the various kinks in how we do things, and getting everyone familiar with the register, the store, and the games.
Despite not having an “Open” sign (trying to fix that today), we've had several folks come into the store.  We've had folks from the Gwinnett Boardgame Society stop by, as well as some new friends from Cleveland, GA and other nearby communities.  We've had people playing everything from Dominon to The Village.  Folks have brought in their own games to play with others, or have pulled games off our demo shelf to learn something new.
We've also gotten in a boatload of stock, including our initial stock of Magic: The Gathering, as well as games like Pathfinder, Dungeons and Dragons, and all the staples like Ticket to Ride, nearly every variant of Catan, Pandemic, and Small World.  We've also brought in several newer titles, and a few obscure games (like Hungry Hungry Hipsters).
Slowly but surely, our inventory is filling out and our tables are seeing play time, so it has been a solid week of progress.
Of course, we still have a lot to do.  We need that “Open” sign, for example, and we still need our hours and logo on the door.  Turns out you can't install vinyl signs on glass when the temperature is below 40, so we have to wait for a break in the weather before that can be finalized.  We also need to get in a drink refrigerator to stock soft drinks and bottled water, and order a few more fixtures for the shoppe.
We're still waiting on mats for our tables, and we've got several other stock shipments coming in over the next few days.
As it turns out, it looks like the weather for Saturday will be pretty nice.  We're still glad we moved out the Grand Opening to March 7th, though, because it gives us a little more time to make things more awesome.  By then we will have our event reporter setup for running sanctioned Magic The Gathering events, for example, so we can run some drafts and what-not that evening, and we have a little more time to work with a caterer to get some yummies in for the day.
We've gotten a lot done, but we still have a lot to do.  Meanwhile, come by and see us.  We open until midnight today and tomorrow.  We hope to see you soon!
